All operational locks in the system are open for the Labor Day weekend according to the published schedule at this link. About 25 miles of the lower Fox River are navigable: from the bay of Green Bay through DePere to just south of Wrightstown, then from the Menasha lock through Appleton, Cedars, and Little Chute to Kaukauna. The Menasha lock and the Kaukauna locks will be closed as they were all season.
A few things to note:
- Repairs to the Little Chute lock are finished and the lock is open and ready for use!
- This will be the final weekend of the summer that the locks in Cedars, Little Chute, and Combined Locks will be open.
- The locks in DePere, Little Kaukauna, and all four Appleton locks will be open until September 15, so plan your outing for the next two weekends!
