2018 Lock Fees & Operations

Lock Operation: May 18, 2018 – Oct. 7, 2018

UPDATE: 2.28.28: The Village of Little Chute is continuing to have problems with the bridge at the Little Chute lock and it is inoperable. However, most boats can pass under the bridge pending water levels.

The Menasha Lock will remain closed during the 2018 season in accordance with DNR rule 40. For more information, please visit this link.

Appleton Area Locks

Menasha lock will be closed for the 2018 season

Appleton Locks 1, 2, 3, 4

Friday, Saturday & Sunday (including holidays) 11 am- 9pm
Boats traveling upstream are locked on the odd hour (11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm), boats traveling downstream are locked on the even hours (12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm).

Heart of the Valley area locks

2018 Fox Locks Fee Schedule

Season Pass – $100
A season pass is valid all season at all open locks on the Fox River
Motorboats and non-motorized boats.
“Motorboat” means any boat equipped with propulsion machinery, whether or not the machinery is the principal source of propulsion. (for further information on  motorboats, please visit this link)

“Non-motorized boat” means a boat which is not a motorboat but which is designed and constructed to be used as a boat for transportation of a person or persons on water. This term includes, but is not limited to, any canoe, sailboat, inflatable boat or similar device, row boat, raft and dinghy which is not a motorboat. Day pass $10 Recreational
A daily pass is valid for one day at open locks on the Fox River

Commercial Vessels $80 per lockage
Tour Boat $80 Round trip down and back

“Commercial motorboat” means a motorboat while it is being operated to transport property or passengers for hire or while it is being used by its operator or owner to earn a livelihood or to gain a profit or both. For more information, please visit this link.

Scheduled Paddle Events
$1.00 each with a minimum of 100 participants per lockage
“Scheduled Paddle Events” are publicly advertised at least one month prior to the event in local newspapers and other media outlets

Special Lockages after hours and off season. These events require 24 hour notice by calling our office.
