Lock tender houses restored for public use

Ten of the lock sites within the Fox River system include dwellings that originally served as homes for the lock master and his family. Several projects are underway to restore these homes and are highlighted below

The Little Chute Lock Keeper House
little chute lock tender houseThanks to volunteers from The Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway, you can step back into the 1930s and visit a fully restored lock keeper house at the Little Chute lock. The home was constructed in 1909 on Mill Street in Little Chute, and is a 1-1/2 story, Colonial Revival style home. The home is available for overnight rentals starting May 1, 2016. De Pere Lock Keeper House
This restoration project evolved from a partnership between the Fox River Navigational System Authority and a group of DePere area businessmen. The result is a beautiful, refurbished structure that is leased out to a local businesses.
