CEO Bob Stark announces retirement
A sad day for all at the Fox River Navigational System Authority–CEO Bob Stark has announced his plans to retire effective October 2, 2017. Stark has been a leader of the organization for 18 years serving as one of the original gubernatorial appointees to the board of directors, board chairman, and finally as administrator, chief operating officer and chief executive officer.
Under his leadership, FRNSA completed a 10-year project to restore 16 of the locks on the Fox River on time and under budget. Stark has also been instrumental in restoring operation to many of the locks, thus opening up large stretches of the Fox River for recreational use.
“I’ve been fortunate to be on the front lines of restoring this historic gem to operational order,” Stark said. “For the first time in a generation, residents of the state can see the locks operate as they did when they were built in the1850s and that’s a legacy we can share with our grandchildren.”
The board of directors is currently undergoing a search for Stark’s replacement. For a copy of the job description, please visit this link.
